Last year, many mainstream publications made it perfectly clear that Trump’s tweets drawing attention to the spate of white-owned farm murders, were, in actual fact, little more than a racially-charged conspiracy theory to sow division and to further the nefarious political agenda of the populist right responsible for the very election of Trump.
On May 24th, The Gateway Pundit reported on the gruesome murder of fifty-year-old Annette Kennealy–a prominent Anti-farm-murder activist–who was bludgeoned to death with a pipe and a hammer.
Apart from Trump’s tweets and the media’s damage control, being a white farmer in South Africa is one of the deadliest occupations on the planet, boasting a higher murder rate than the most violent cities on Earth.
Today, The Daily Mail reported on the murder of Stefan Smit, 62, who had been shot dead while dining with family and friends.
The Daily Mail reports that Smit ‘had been openly critical of the threat of land grabs on his property – a large estate in Stellenbosch, Western Cape – South Africa’s most famous wine region.’
It was reported that a white farmer was allegedly killed every five days in the Rainbow Nation.
Politically-justified violent rhetoric against white farmers has been ramping up in recent years with talk to redress economic inequalities supposedly caused by colonialism and Apartheid, which has had deadly real-life consequences.
