Popular YouTuber ‘ThuleanPerspective’, also known as ‘Varg’, has channel with six-figure subscriber count terminated “due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s policy prohibiting hate speech.”
Varg is the one of the first YouTube heavy-hitters to be axed since YouTube announced a tightening of their hate speech laws.
YouTube pledged to begin removing ‘harmful’ users including ‘supremacists’ and ‘conspiracy theorists’, while hiding content from flat-earthers and advocates of alternative forms of medicine.
Alternative media has been incredibly successful in derailing Mainstream Media narratives in recent years.
Censorship, in a way, has become a powerful tool in an effort to enforce conformity and removing content creators whose topics maybe deemed problematic to the interests of Big Tech.
Other platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, have slowly begun to e-unperson vocal individuals whose views don’t align with the prevailing socially-accepted politics.
For some content creators, hours of work and years of persistence go into amassing large followings. Hate speech rules are often purposefully nebulous in order to cast a wide net in removing problematic voices.
Big Tech wields an incredible amount of power in their ability to silence active dissidents, while turning a blind eye to content which may not be as politically damaging.
